Uljanik Shipyard in Pula launched Hull 530, a polar expedition yacht built for the Australian company Scenic
In November 2017, we reported the Uljanik Shipyard in Pula was building a 165-metre long yacht for Scenic, an Australian company specialising in luxury cruises. Hull 530 was launched in Pula on Wednesday, Glas Istre reported on January 31, 2018.
Scenic Eclipse is advertised as the world’s first six-star exploration yacht. It has a capacity of 237, and was designed for cruises to the Arctic and Antarctic regions. The yacht measures 168 metres in length and 21.5 metres in width, and features 114 spacious cabins, the largest having up to 100 square metres of floor area.
The Scenic company disposes of around 20 luxury cruise ships, all of them designed for river-sailing. Scenic Eclipse will be their first cruise ship intended for polar exploration, as well as the world’s first cruise ship with such a high Ice Class.
