If you are looking for a unique way to celebrate your wedding or special occasion, Polaris Boat in Split may be the answer you are looking for.

We all love a good party and nowadays everyone is always looking for that unique angle, a new way to celebrate in style. Maybe it is just me and because I have worked on yachts in Croatia for the last five years but, I can’t think of a better, more fun or intimate way to have a special event than on a boat, sailing the crystal-clear waters of Dalmatia.

Just picture it, you have all of your nearest or dearest, in one place, the sun is shining, bubbles are flowing, great music and food, the scenery is spectacular – and better yet, ever-changing…

This summer we did exactly that when we chartered Polaris for the day to celebrate the launch of Total Croatia Sailing. Rather than a wedding, our event was a little more relaxed, perfect for team-building in the middle of our busy season. We took the opportunity to charter Polaris from Split – Šolta, where we got off to explore Stomorska and go to an olive oil tasting before heading to island Brač where we anchored, swam and enjoyed the stunning waters. See our experience below

We also hired a DJ who kept the atmosphere chilled for the first part of the day, then amped it up a little in the afternoon. You can read the full story here but in short, Polaris is a beautiful well-appointed ship, the owner Marin Novaković is one of the most genuine people I have met in this region and the fact that he has kept the same crew for around 17 years, confirms this. We had lunch onboard which was a beautiful spread of local products and fresh Mediterranean style dishes for mains.

There were only 30 of us but Polaris can easily hold up to 150 people.

The boat itself has character and history, having been built for the Normandy Invasion in World War II, it is one of the few surviving ships of this make and, thanks to a lot of love and renovations, the entire ship and interior has been very well taken care of; leaving us with the beautiful ship we see today.
