It features AC/DC, Beatles, Queen and Rolling Stones rooms.
As a part of the Pula Rock Café, the first rock hostel in the city was opened on Thursday night. It features several annexes, and they are all located at Scalierova St. 8, above the Rock Caffé. The Rock Palace itself is situated about hundred meters from the Caffe. The hostel was designed by Ivan Stojimirović, reports Glas Istre on June 28, 2016.
“The place is thematic precisely because we wanted to show the story of Pula as a rock city”, said the head of Rock Caffe Mirko Mocko. According to him, since the very beginning of rock, Pula has embraced this musical genre in every way. One of the factors in this tradition is the Rock Caffe, which opened in 1994, and for more than two decades it has been a gathering place of the fans of rock music”, explained Mocko.
The hostel is telling a true rock story. Visitors can choose between the AC/DC Room , Beatles Room, Queen Room or Rolling Stones Room, and only few steps away is a wide variety of programmes awaiting its guests. Whoever stays at the hostel will get a key, bedding and a bracelet and will have a discount on drinks they order at the Rock Caffe. About forty beds have been set up in ten rooms, five of which are in the hostel and another five in the annexes.
Hostel Rock Palace will keep its doors open throughout the year, and because it is so closely related to the Rock Café in every sense, various events will be held related to the rock music. For this summer, at least ten concerts have been planned. However, Mocko does not want to focus on one profile of guests only.
“Enyone should come to visit. Young, old… Today, rock is evergreen, and everyone listens to it, persons from 7 to 70 years old. Perhaps only in our city, which is a rock city, there are still some sceptics who will say that something here is dead, but that is not true”, said Mocko.
