Roger Waters took to Zagreb a few nights ago. How did he do?
Zagreb was treated to an amazing concert and spectacle by one of the true legends of modern music on Sunday the 6th of May, 2018, when the amazing Roger Waters returned to the capital to perform in his much awaited ”Us + Them” tour.
Since beginning the tour one year ago, the bassist, singer, songwriter and one of the founding members of Pink Floyd has performed to packed and sold out venues across the world.
The concert at the Zagreb Arena was no different, with the atmosphere building up from late afternoon. The coffee shops, bars and car parks were full of people donning the full range of Pink Floyd Tee shirts and the icnonic sounds of Floyd filled the air.
The show featured songs from some of Pink Floyd’s greatest albums including ”The Dark Side of The Moon”, “The Wall”, “Animals”, “Meddle” and “Wish You Were Here” as well as songs from Roger’s solo career, as well as several new tracks from his album “Is This the Life We Really Want?”
During the second part of the show, the crowd was amazed when several screens descended from the roof and filled the main standing area of the arena. The screens showed satirical and political messages, a live stream of the show and iconic Pink Floyd image such as ”The Battersea Power Station” which was used on their 1977 album ”Animals”.
When ”Eclipse”, from ”Dark Side of the Moon” were played, a prism appeared above the crowd. With the aid of lasers, lights and smoke, an incredible sight and ambience was created.
