As Glas Istre/Aleta Brattoni writes on the 24th of August, 2019, over recent days, the results of voting for the best coworking space were announced on the coworker.com network for 2019, and the “2019 Coworker Members’ Choice Awards” was received by Rovinj’s coworking space! Otherwise, the coworker.com network brings together more than 13,000 coworking spaces in 168 countries, and that number is growing day by day.

The nomination itself comes from their side. Rovinj’s coworking space was nominated along with 11,500 network locations worldwide, and the voting was done through an online poll, explained Ivana Čehić Jeftović, who is in charge of customer service at the coworking space in Rovinj.

Rovinj are on the list of the best with two more spaces in Croatia, WIP Coworking in Split and Impact Hub in Zagreb, of which sixteen are registered on the platform.

”Being a small space in a small town, this award means a lot to us, especially because it comes from our users. It’s not about any physical reward, it’s about increased brand recognition. Just because our customers have recognised us and expressed their satisfaction with both the design of the space and the working atmosphere, means more to us than any reward,” says Čehić Jeftović.

Users of this award-winning space have recognised Coworking Rovinj as a comfortable place to work. As has been learned, they have free coffee and tea available to them, and they have a social get-together every Friday afternoon. In addition, as part of the Rovinj space, its beneficiaries are given the opportunity to consult on the CCI, available incentives for (cultural) entrepreneurship at local and national level, the space provides them with the opportunity to network, especially for those with a particular focus and desire to develop EU projects, and then local non-profit organisations receive support in running their own cultural projects.

Rovinj’s coworking space has been open since October 2017 and was initially set up by a group of young creative people from the FARO11 Association, who saw this coworking project as an opportunity to strengthen the city’s business infrastructure in the creative industries.

Twice a year, the space has its Open Door Days during which it seeks to bring the concept of coworking closer to the community in which they operate. Visitors have the opportunity to learn directly from the users about the experiences of working there, and to get acquainted with the same atmosphere. It’s also worth mentioning that the residents of Rovinj have special benefits in the form of a fifty percent lower rental price. However, according to Čehić Jeftović, the greatest advantage is the possibility of networking, sharing of resources and experiences.

The space consists of eighteen work units, and since its opening, there have been seven fixed users who use it throughout the year.

”From our opening till today, we have had forty different users, including foreigners. The trend of a ”workation” is increasing, and we can boast that this summer we have had users from the United States, Australia, Germany, New Zealand and other countries,” says Ivana Čehić Jeftović.

Behind their prestigious 2019 title is a lot of hard work and effort, because managing such a project is extremely demanding.

”This is a demanding project, especially due to the fact that it requires cooperation with many different stakeholders. Every day, we strive to improve our working conditions and listen to the needs of users to make coworking work more enjoyable,” noted Ivana Čehić Jeftović.
