Total Croatia News

BMW MK Split and BMW AK Dalmatia raised money to buy the equipment for Children’s ward of Split Hospital.

Every now and then, there is a story about bikers helping in various humanitarian actions in Croatia so if there was even a little bit of prejudice left towards the “tough” looking boys and girls wearing leather jackets, it was once again dismissed on April 3, 2016, in Split.

Members of two BMW Clubs, both bike and automobile ones have joined forces in a charity project “For the smile of children in hospitals”, and raised money for two air conditioning devices to be presented to the Children’s ward of the Split Hospital.

We talked to Željan Rakela, prominent adventurer and the president of BMW MK Split, and he told us that they organize these kinds of charity projects at least once a year. They have another similar fundraising event planned for May this year, in which they will help the Oncology ward. He thanked all the members and friends of the club, pointing out that the need for this kind of action is getting bigger, as unfortunately, there is a rising number of those in need of help. The action was closed with a party in Split.
