First public park for pets in Split will be completed by April 2016

Split is getting its first “woof-park” this spring, Dalmatinski portal reports on February 25.2016.  In the city area of Blatine, in Šimićeva ulica, an area of 1200 m2 Split has been allocated for the construction of the very first public park for pets and it will be equipped with toys suitable for pets of all sizes: “The city has allowed us to use this location for this particular purpose. Works will commence in a few days and they should be finished by April. This area was devastated and wasn’t used up till now and we really needed an adequate place in the city where people could come with their pets considering that the one we were using now was next to an improvised children’s playground” says Davor Matijević, president of city district council Blatine.

Matijević added that the park will be fenced, to protect the pets and their owners and the city and city district will help finance it along with sponsors. These parks are not rare in big cities, Zagreb already has several of them while this will be the first one for Split.
