ZAGREB, February 27, 2018 – The number of flu patients in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been growing rapidly by the week, and in nearly one-third of patients the so-called swine flu (H1N1) virus has been found, the public health institute of the country’s Federation entity reported on Monday.
Hospital officials in Tuzla, in the northeast of the country, confirmed on Monday that a chronic patient infected with swine flu had died, which is the fifth such case in the area of Tuzla in the last ten days. Last week, a 27-year-old woman died from complications caused by swine flu.
In the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, two deaths caused by swine flu have been reported so far.
Currently the number of patients with respiratory infections is the highest in Sarajevo Canton – close to 4,000, including 441 flu cases.
