The pilot flew very low and passed under the Mirna Bridge.
Airie Sasha Juvan, a Facebook user, has released a video of an airplane flight on its profile, stating that an unknown pilot flew above an airstrip used by the Paragliding Tandem Istria club. According to his information, the plane is Porter Pilatus PC-9, reports Jutarnji List on 30 July 2017.
The video shows that the pilot flew extremely close to the trees, rivers and roads and that it even passed under the Mirna Bridge in Istria.
In the comments, other users speculate whether the plane possibly belongs to the Croatian Air Force, although there is no proof of that. Users also discussed whether this flight was legal and under what conditions it could be done. Two users said that it was a video from military pilot training, but Airie Sasha Juvan wrote that even military aircraft should not fly so close to roads and other air traffic participants.
“This pilot flew right past the airstrip we use, and it could never escape paragliders if they were on his way,” wrote Airie Sasha Juvan. “When manoeuvres such as these are announced, then we receive an NOTAM (notification to air traffic participants that a particular area is potentially dangerous). If they are not announced, then he should not have been so close to the land in this area,” he wrote.
Emil Jeletić stated that the video was old and that the Paragliding Tandem Istra club to which, according to the comments, Airie Sasha Juvan also belongs, did not use the Motovun airstrip at the time of the shooting.
The video is not dated, and the source of the original recording is not known.
