ZAGREB, April 21, 2018 – An exhibition of paintings by Hungarian artist Jozsef Rippl-Ronai was officially opened in the Zagreb-based Modern Gallery on Friday by Croatian Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek and Hungarian Human Resources Minister Zoltan Balog.
The exhibition organised in cooperation with Rippl-Ronai Museum in Kaposvar, the hometown of this painter, includes over 70 oil and pastel paintings.
Jozsef Rippl-Ronai, born in 1861 in Kaposvar, introduced modern artistic movements to Hungarian art.
The exhibition will run through 13 May in the gallery housed in the Revival-style Vranyczany Palace in the centre of the Croatian capital.
