ZAGREB, April 15, 2018 – The century-long tradition of Czech design will premiere in Croatia at an exhibition staged as part of Zagreb Design Week, taking place at Nikola Tesla Technical Museum on May 11-20.
Called “The Story of Czech Design – From Cubism to the 21st Century,” the exhibition is being staged on the occasion of the centenary of Czechoslovakia, celebrating the design of everyday objects used by people in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic in the 20th century.
“The exhibition gives a look into the Czechoslovakian and Czech past through the prism of design, it gives us a look into the social system of the state and the interests of its people,” organisers have said.
Visitors will have a chance to see firsthand the quality of Czech design, based on craft, innovation and quality materials, which have made it known worldwide.
The exhibition will have its world premiere at the world’s biggest design festival, Milano Design Week on April 17-22. It then travels to Poland, Zagreb, Paris, Helsinki, Sofia, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Munich.
