A recent exhibition was another proof that street art and graffiti are receiving a long-due affirmation.

The Zagreb audience had an opportunity recently to see a fantastic spatial installation in the creative centre Ledana. The name of the event – Trash Will Smash, reports journal.hr on July 3, 2016.

Numerous young artists, graffiti creators, painters, sculptors, photographers and street artists have turned the abandoned building into a phantasmagorical world where everything is possible. In only one evening, Zagreb received an explosion of art that has not left any of the visitors indifferent. Or, in the words of the organizers, it was “a one-night delirium of twisted reality inside a new den”.

The most intriguing was the work implemented jointly by the artists Chez186 and GLOW. Their creation is something that you cannot see very often. In order to experience it in full size, their work must be presented in a dark room. In other words, they made a graffiti that glows in the dark! Vibrant colours that emerge from the darkness are also a clear reminder of Chez’s previous work and his more than recognizable signature. It opens up a new dimension regarding the way we perceive and observe graffiti, at least when it comes to the audience in Zagreb.

Meanwhile, this international cooperation project between Croatian and Bulgarian artists is another great indicator of the increasing popularity and affirmation of the alternative forms of art – street art and graffiti, and we can only imagine what the upcoming cooperation and actions of this type in urban areas will bring in the future.
