Good news for students in Koprivnica-Križevci County!

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 28th of September, 2018, during the summer months, works totalling 1.5 million kuna have been carried out as part of regular maintenance works in schools in order for both students and school employees to enjoy better conditions for teaching and learning in Koprivnica-Križevci County.

In various schools across the county, floors have been replaced, building façade’s have been repaired, playgrounds have been renovated, asphalt has been paved, heating systems have been upgraded, and windows and roofs have been replaced.

In addition, almost nine million kuna’s worth of renewable energy projects have been implemented in two other local schools, and both of these schools have seen their entire facilities altered and modernised with the environment in mind, lights have been replaced with more efficient ones, boiler and heating systems have been changed and/or refurbished, and solar collectors for hot water heating have been put in place. Both of these county schools are planning on managing to achieve as much as 70 percent savings when it comes to heating.

In addition to continuously improving the material conditions in schools, the Koprivnica-Križevci County will continue to co-finance student transportation, with special assistance projects for pupils with developmental disabilities, free school meals for students from families with a lower income, and the current school ”scheme”, which offers free meals of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as milk and other dairy products for schoolchildren, will remain in place as normal.
