A busy summer weekend is behind us.
How do you know summer has well and truly arrived in Croatia? The rising temperatures and people in uncomfortable looking speedos are not the only indicators, traffic and long queues of stressed out drivers is another.
Last weekend saw record amounts of people cross Croatia’s borders in cars, buses and trucks and many of the country’s most popular coastal destinations were more full than usual.
As Poslovni Dnevnik reports on the 24th of July, 2017, 148,871 cars, 4398 trucks and 1362 buses left Croatian territory over the weekend. Data obtained from the Interior Ministry states that 612,819 passengers entered Croatia through various border crossings on Saturday, with 562,299 of them leaving.
The extremely busy tourist weekend created huge crowds, traffic and very long queues at border crossings.
