Ante Gotovina Celebrates 62nd Birthday

Happy birthday, Ante Gotovina!

As DuList reports on the 12th of October, 2017, General Ante Gotovina is celebrating his 62nd birthday today.

The now retired Croatian Army General was born on October the 12th, 1955, and is one of the most prominent and well known commanders of the Homeland War, particular emphasis is placed on his primary role in Operation Storm (Oluja) which took place in 1995. 

Back in November 2012, Gotovina’s convictions for ”war crimes” were overturned and he returned as a free man to Croatia following his release from custody.

After his liberation from custody in 2012, Ante Gotovina became a businessman and lives a fairly quiet life. He naturally enjoys the undivided respect of the Croatian public, as well as most Croatian politicians. He became an honory citizen of Dubrovnik in the year 2013 and by the decision of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, Gotovina was appointed as a member of the Croatian Homeland Security Council in 2015.
