HRT5 will be available in Croatian language in several countries!
Good news for those outside of Croatia and outside of Europe as satellite signal access will be available not only here in Europe, but in North America, Australia and even New Zealand.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 30th of December, 2017, on January the 1st, 2018, HRT will launch HRT – HTV 5 intended for Croats outside of the Republic of Croatia, as well as the international public, according to information published on HRT’s website.
Specialised and relevant content intended for Croatian emigrants and the international public will be broadcast in several countries worldwide, there will also be a selection of content of four other HRT national TV programs, as well as a selection from HRT’s archive material.
Aside from broadcasts in Croatian language, there will be a news feature in English, German and Spanish, and a documentary series about discovering Croatia, as well as programs portraying the lives of Croatians who left Croatia, as well as returnees and foreigners living and working in the Republic of Croatia. There will also be documentary content which focuses on the historical ties shared between Croatia and the world, with special emphasis on the value of Croatian cultural heritage, as well as a specialised show for Croatian minorities, such as the Croatian population living in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The purpose of including more international languages such as English, Spanish and German alongside Croatian is to allow those who perhaps do not understand Croatian well to feel closer to the country, be they descendents of Croatian emigrants or foreigners.
One particular HRT5 broadcast, which will include approximately ninety minutes of specialised content per day, will be broadcast twice daily to cover all time zones and areas with a large number of Croatian emigrants.
