TCN’s Luka Vuylsteke was out and about in Beli Manastir this morning after the first wave of arrivals had left for Hungary.
It is calm in Beli Manastir, after all migrants left yesterday afternoon in the direction of Hungary.
Everywhere in the town people are busy removing abandoned trash.
The barracks are empty, volunteers are busy putting everything back in order before the next wave of migrants arrives.
This morning around 9 AM there was a visit to the barracks from PM Milanović.
Some locals saying that Milanović should have seen the situation on Thursday night, not today!
Comments from the locals are positive and negative. But everyone is angry at those who are exploiting refugees in their situation!
For a ride to Osijek(35 km) some drivers asking 100 Euro to 200 Euro, others have exchange 100 Euro and give only 20 Kuna!!
Many locals are giving a helping hand to this situation, and are prepared for the next days.
Most locals have the same opinion that the refugees were friendly…..but do not belong here in the region forever.
