A total sum of 250.3 million kuna for Rijeka’s projects, made up by a hefty loan of 158.6 million kuna.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 8th of May, 2018, the office of Rijeka’s longtime Mayor, Vojko Obersnel, sent a draft decision on the loan of 158.6 million kuna to the City Council to secure part of the funds for the city’s numerous upcoming capital projects on Tuesday.

The loan would provide a part of the money for the revitalisation of the Benčić complex, along with the re-design of the Rijeka City Library and children’s momes, as well as for the re-design of public areas and the construction of the related infrastructure, as well as for the energy reconstruction of five kindergartens and six primary schools.

The total value of these projects stands at a massive 250.3 million kuna, of which 76.8 million kuna will be secured through European Union funds.

Around 19.9 million kuna will be provided by the fund for the co-financing of the implementation of European projects at the regional and local level, and 158.6 million kuna is the share of the City of Rijeka, which will be secured by a loan.
