Tourism and technology, two of Croatia’s strongest industries, converged in Zagreb this wek, with the first “3T – Tourism, Travel & Tech” conference. TCN was there.
On Friday, March 31, 2017 HUB385 in Zagreb was the place to be to hear all about new IT trends in tourism and travel. Bug and Mreža were organisers of “3T – Tourism, Travel & Tech” conference, which focused on mutual connections of these two relevant industries in Croatia. The conference was a full-day event filled with panel discussions and lectures.
It started with short introduction speech of Oleg Maštruko, director of the conference and then Luca Romozzi, the keynote speaker had the opening lecture with topic “Let the data be your guide.”
This was followed by an interesting panel discussion on topic „Sharing vs Caring – Can private accommodation affect hotels like Uber affects transportation?” The participants were professionals who work both in tourism and technology related businesses – like Google, Uber, Valamar, ZigZag, Horwath HTL, Rentlio.
Afternoon sessions were divided into three categories – technology, marketing and experiences. The participants could choose the lecture and learn from it – all the lecturers presented what their businesses do and gave the audience ideas on how to improve services in tourism.
Technology lectures presented IT solutions available for tourism and advantages of using technology in tourism. Marketing lectures dealt with innovative ways of boosting promotion and sales in tourism with relevant marketing tools like native and social media marketing and CRM. Finally, Experiences were lectures from business and individuals related to tourism and travel who have their own unique stories and examples on how they combined technology and tourism.
This conference was a good chance to meet the people who work in tourism and IT. In same time it offered solutions and ideas for better placement of Croatian tourism products and services on the global market.
