Marx Johann, Ambassador of South Africa stationed in Budapest, visited the Split Shipyard during his visit to Split on October 7th, 2015. Given that South Africa is the most developed African country with a coast stretching over 3000 km on two oceans, they are always in need of new port equipment and new coast guard ships.
According to the press release sent by Split Shipyard’s PR department, Mr. Marx was „Very impressed with Brodosplit, its rich history and high level of quality of its products“.
During his visit he took a tour of the luxury motor yacht „Katina“which just came back from the Monaco Nautical Expo. Ambassador was especially interested in the construction of cranes for port containers as well the construction of special coast guard boats currently being built for Croatia’s Ministry of Defence.
Hopefully, this visit will result in some new orders, and a fruitful business cooperation of Croatia and South Africa.
