New app includes dozens of meditation exercises that can help women cope with stress and raise self-esteem.
Croatia’s technology company Bellabeat, which produces a line of products intended for women, has sold more than 400,000 of its first product – Leaf. It is a leaf-shaped device and can be worn as a bracelet, brooch or pendant, reports Večernji List on July 31, 2016.
Meanwhile, Bellabeat went a step further and presented a new generation of devices – Leaf Urban. What sets it apart from its predecessor is that it looks more modern and comes with a new mobile application that helps women keep track of stress and reduce it through meditation exercises.
Leaf aims to merge technology and aesthetics, and given the fact that its first version, with its more natural look, was not to everyone’s taste, the new edition is smaller, lighter and made of material that does not make it look plastic. Leaf Urban is stronger and offers an improved line of accessories, including a better bracelet so the device no longer moves around the wrist. Also, the device is waterproof, but the sensors are still the same.
Leaf Urban measures user’s activity and sleep, and it can monitor ovulation and monthly cycles. As a result of the data collected, Leaf can now predict woman’s mood and stress levels, as well as provide better understanding of how cycles affect sleep and activities. Leaf Urban and the new app will be available for iOS and Android devices staring from 1 August.
“Based on the data we have collected for the first generation of Leaf, we can find a correlation between activity, sleep, female cycles and stress levels”, explains Bellabeat co-founder Urška Sršen. “We can now predict which parameters, such as lack of sleep, cause higher levels of stress and thus give valuable feedback to our users”, says Sršen.
