He will soon arrive in the first visit to Zagreb where he will be introduced to the local startup scene and Croatia’s broader economic potential. Binod Chaudhary is the owner and president of CG Corp Global, a multinational conglomerate of 122 companies on five continents with 76 brands, including the famous Wai Wai pasta. In 2017, he entered the European market by building a factory in Serbia. The billionaire is now interested in expanding his business in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he will also visit.
On May 8, Chaudhary will give a motivational lecture at the Zagreb Innovation Center ZICER. He will explain how he started in a small and emerging country and still managed to build an empire and expand it all over the world, while not being a member of a wealthy family nor attending expensive schools. The inspirational guest will meet with selected local startups that have already passed the incubation phase. He is also interested in the broader economic potential of Croatia since his business interests are focused on finance, energy, tourism, agriculture, telecommunications and IT.
The first Nepalese billionaire is also the most influential Nepalese philanthropist who was featured on the cover page of Forbes Asia as one of 40 outstanding donors in 2015 since he invested millions in the reconstruction of houses after a devastating earthquake hit his country. He personally survived a major earthquake in Chile in 2010, which he cites as a milestone in his life. These events are covered in his autobiography Making It Big, which has been published in numerous languages throughout Asia, in the United States and Great Britain. Its Croatian edition is expected soon.
