ZAGREB, August 8, 2018 – In the first seven months of 2018, 43,967 new passenger cars were sold in Croatia, up 21.2% on the year, the Promocija Plus market research company said on Wednesday.
In July alone, 5,738 cars were sold, up 39.1% on the year.
The best seller in the first seven months of the year was Volkswagen, with 6,540 cars sold and a 14.8% market share. Renault was second with 4,369 cars sold and a 9.9% market share, while Opel was third with 4,321 cars sold and a 9.8% market share.
Skoda Octavia was the year’s best selling model through July, with 2,262 cars sold, followed by Renault Clio with 2,201 and WW Polo with 1,639 cars sold.
In the said period, 24,775 petrol cars were sold, or 56.3% of all sales, as well as 18,246 diesel cars (41.5%), 22 electric cars (0.1%) and 505 hybrids (1.1%).
