Total Croatia News

A bold claim by Croatian Telecom.

Croatian Telecom announced today the results of an international and independent network testing conducted by P3 Communications, which has shown that Croatian Telecom (HT) has the best mobile data and voice service among all networks in Croatia, reports Jutarnji List on November 27, 2017.

The telecommunications company has received the P3 “Best in Test” certification, an internationally recognised quality assurance confirmation. “The P3 certification is in the telecoms world what Oscar is in the film industry. Croatian Telecom has the best results in both categories – quality of data and quality of voice services,” said Boris Drilo, member of the HT Board of Directors and Chief Technology and Information Officer.

During the P3 testing from 28 September to 7 October, HT’s network collected 918 of the possible 1,000 points, which is the best result in the P3 testing history in Croatia.

With regards to the mobile internet, the P3 testing has shown that HT offers the fastest internet search service in Europe, as well as Europe’s top performance in video playback. Specifically, HT has the best data network in Europe with 577 points from the possible 600, which is an improvement of more than 100 points in the last two years.

“HT offers the highest mobile network speeds of up to 350 Mbit/s, while in Karlovac we have started a pilot project where users will be able to download data with speeds of up to 550 Mbit/s. This is the first commercial application of the multiple antenna systems technology which is the foundation of the 5G network,” announced Croatian Telecom.

The company has increased coverage on the fixed broadband internet as well. By the end of the year, access speeds of over 30 Mbit/s will be provided to 876,000 users or 58 percent of the total number of households in Croatia. Additionally, fibre-optic access to the internet will be enabled for 378,000 or 25 percent of households.

“In 2017, Croatian Telekom increased its investments in infrastructure and technology by 178 million kunas. The high quality of HT’s network is visible in comparison to leading European markets, especially in the segment of internet access. We are continuing with the strong investments and development of all technology segments,” said Davor Tomašković, CEO of Croatian Telecom.
