We all know 2015 was a record year for Croatian tourism, but according to Eurostat’s article published on January 26, 2016, which focuses on the short-term evolutions in the nights spent at tourist accommodation in the European Union (EU), Croatia now ranks No. 8 in the EU when it comes to overnight stays. At least one business table where we made the top 10, and considering great announcements form all major markets, there results might be even better in 2016.
According to Eurostat, in the period between January and October 2016 Croatia was one of the EU countries with the highest percentage of growth (7,9%).
Spain took the number one spot with 421 million overnights, followed by France in second place (413 million). Italy, Germany, Greece, Netherlands and Austria are also in front of us, but nevertheless, this is a great result. We hope the growth trend wi continue considering this is one of the few industries in Croatia which contributes greatly to our ailing GDP.
