CRANE has so far secured 1.5 million kuna in investments.
Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE) has for the first time received an institution into its membership. The institution is Zagreb Core Incubator. This will additionally strengthen CRANE’s support for the development of the startup ecosystem in Croatia. Last year, as many as eight new members have joined CRANE and it has secured over 1.5 million kun ain investments. This positive trend of continues in 2016, reports Poslovni.hr on March 19, 2016.
“I am very pleased that we are starting to consolidate the entire local startup scene and are becoming stronger in the struggle to improve conditions for investments. Core Incubator, led by people like Mr. Bangoura, is one of the pioneers of the startup incubators, and has so far attracted the attention of large investment funds and developed an active cooperation with them. I think this is a good path, and the fact that Core Incubator is an institution opens the way for other similar institutions to join us. Anyone who invests in start-ups, be it an individual or an institution, is welcome to the Croatian Business Angel Network – CRANE. We all have the same goals, such as increasing the number of investments and rapid improvement of the business climate in Croatia”, said Davorin Štetner, president of CRANE.
Core Incubator is a company established with funds from Abu Dhabi. It acts as a startup incubator and provides pre-seed and seed investment. They have so far invested in 17 projects, of which 12 have been turned into companies. In addition to investments, an important support to startups is a CoreHub – a co-working space owned by Core Incubator which offers all kinds of support to teams that is needed for implementation of their ideas. Startups can apply at CoreHub during any time of the year. In addition to the free workspace which they can use 24/7, mentoring is also available to the teams.
