ZAGREB, April 25, 2018 – The 9th edition of the Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF) was opened in Bosnia and Herzegovina capital on Wednesday, bringing together over a thousand of potential investors, business people, entrepreneurs and politicians from more than 50 counties.

The SBF is connecting institutional and private investors and businessmen from all over the world with businessmen and project owners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. It represents a platform for business networking and exploration of investment and business opportunities in the Southeast Europe region with the sole objective to foster its economic development.

The 9th edition of the forum, which this year is held under the slogan “One region, one economy,” is organised by Bosna Bank International (BBI), in cooperation with its shareholders (Islamic Development Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank) and other international partners.

The guest of honour of this year’s conference is Slovenian President Borut Pahor. The event is also being attended by former Croatian President Stjepan Mesić, however no current holders of political office or prominent business people from Croatia have come.

Opening the event, the chairman of the Bosnia and Herzegovina presidency Bakir Izetbegović said the situation in Bosnia had significantly changed for the better, notably over the past three or four years following an intensive reform implementation.

The Chairman of the BH Council of Minister Denis Zvizdić said that all economic indicators confirmed Bosnia’s progress and that the country was recording a continuous growth.
