October the 31st, 2023 – The well known Croatian company Dalekovod has completed a challenging job in Sweden, and has also been given a prestigious award.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the leading Croatian company for the design, production and construction of energy infrastructure, Dalekovod, has successfully completed the extremely demanding project of replacing the Barsebäck-Sege transmission line in Sweden. The works were commissioned by the national energy company – Svenske Kraftnät. The Swedish investor also awarded the Croatian company Dalekovod a special award for its contribution to environmental protection and maintenance of health and safety at work.

The Croatian company Dalekovod confirms its position

The Barsebäck-Sege project included work on a 28-kilometre-long transmission line, and in just 52 days, through two stages, a total of 78 existing poles were removed, new foundations were built, poles were assembled and erected, and all of the accompanying electrical installation work was performed. All the old parts were carefully removed, and the terrain is returned to its original state with special emphasis placed on the protection of the environment, plant and animal life. The project mobilised 100 Dalekovod employees, top engineers and builders, occupational safety experts and fitters, with which Dalekovod confirmed its position as an internationally recognised company in the field of energy.

“The Barsebäck-Sege transmission line replacement project is an additional confirmation that the Croatian company Dalekovod has the capacity, experience and high quality people to implement some of the most demanding projects. With this, we further strengthened our position on the Scandinavian market, as well as on the wider European market. That opens up numerous opportunities through significant investments in the modernisation of the energy infrastructure. We’re satisfied because we’ve justified the long-term trust vested in us by our Swedish investor, so we’re encouraged when it comes to continuing our successful cooperation on other projects. The now realised project represents a concrete argument for both Croatian and foreign investors to place their trust in Dalekovod in the implementation of energy and transport infrastructure projects,” said Tomislav Rosandić, president of the Dalekovod Management Board.

Dalekovod as a shining example to others

The professionalism shown by the Croatian company Dalekovod and their position on the Scandinavian market has also been clearly confirmed by the recent recognition for their exceptional efforts in the field of safety in the energy sector. The company was awarded as part of the annual Health & Safety Summit organised by Svenska Kraftnät, held in Stockholm. It is an annual conference that the Swedish national company organises as part of the wider European Work Environment Week. It focuses on the sustainability and safety of all actors in the energy sector. This year, the award was given for the first time, and it went to Dalekovod owing to its utterly flawless management of the Grundfors ledningsökjailer project, which included the reconstruction of four existing 400 kV lines and one 220 kV line around the new substation.

On behalf of Dalekovod, the award was accepted by: Sanja Svilković, head of the business excellence department, Grundfors project manager Milan Brnas, Milan Matošević, head of the occupational health and safety service, and Tvrtko Zlopaša, a member of the Management Board.

Safety and the protection of health has been a focus for Dalekovod

“Safety and the protection of people’s health have been a special focus of Dalekovo for almost 75 years now, and that’s why we’re especially happy about having been given this special award. This is recognition for all our previous efforts in systematic management and care for people and the environment. We also see it as additional motivation for further progress, because Dalekovod analyses its existing procedures every day and develops safety and protective measures for the benefit of its employees”, said Zlopaša when accepting the award.

Even though the award has now been handed over and the successful implementation of projects in Sweden have been completed, Dalekovod continues to have some very ambitious plans for the future, as well as the creation of new employment positions.
