February the 14th, 2024 – The Croatian company Project 3 Mobility has announced its collaboration with Mobileye (MBLY), the global leader in autonomous driving solutions.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Croatian company Project 3 Mobility (P3), which is developing a new urban mobility ecosystem, and Mobileye (Nasdaq: MBLY), a global leader in autonomous driving solutions, have announced a collaboration. In the development of its service, the Croatian company Project 3 Mobility will use advanced Mobileye technology for autonomous vehicles – Mobileye Drive.

The impressive Project 3 Mobility is currently developing a service whose goal is to significantly improve transportation in urban areas and revolutionise mobility in cities. The launch of the service is planned for 2026. right here in Zagreb, and the first stages of testing Mobileye’s technology on the streets of the Croatian capital will begin this year. In the first phase of testing, the focus will be on mapping all of Zagreb’s streets, for which Project 3 Mobility will use specially equipped test vehicles.

After that mapping process is completed, the focus will be on testing Mobileye’s autonomous system solution to calibrate their technology for this environment. Different test vehicles that won’t look like the autonomous vehicles being developed will be used throughout the aforementioned phases. They will also include safety drivers.

Project 3 Mobility is developing its own autonomous electric vehicle from the ground up, and this is the key to the implementation of a new urban mobility ecosystem in their opinion. Part of the vehicle development involves the development of a completely new vehicle platform optimised for autonomous driving. Mobileye’s technology will be fully integrated into the Project 3 Mobility vehicle, which will use the Mobileye Drive system for autonomous driving.

“Our goal is to improve the way people move around in cities. Our cooperation with Mobileye is the foundation for achieving that vision. Mobileye has proven to be a great partner that has the right experience, the right technology and the right team. We’re proud that Mobileye recognised the value of our project and that together we will realise our vision of urban autonomous mobility. We believe that by realising our project, we’ll achieve numerous benefits for Zagreb, as well as many other cities that will provide our service to their residents”, said Marko Pejković, co-founder and chief executive officer of the Croatian company Project 3 Mobility.

For the past twenty years, Mobileye has been developing advanced solutions using the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision to improve traffic safety. Today, more than 170 million vehicles worldwide have integrated Mobileye technology. The great advantages of the Mobileye Drive system are that it can be implemented in many geographical locations, on all different types of roads, that it can drive in different weather conditions and even adapt to local driving styles.

Mobileye Drive technology for autonomous driving uses a combination of redundant camera and lidar-radar sensors, REM™ cartography based on mass data collection, all of which is powered by the EyeQ™ system on a chip, which enables Mobileye to monitor traffic dynamics and provide an autonomous driving service adapted to a specific service.

“We welcome the cooperation with the Croatian company Project 3 Mobility, which will contribute to the creation of an innovative new mobility service. We both share a common vision of safe and affordable urban mobility, which we’ll work to achieve with the help of our advanced Mobileye Drive technology, a flexible platform developed for implementation in different types of vehicles. We look forward to exploring new frontiers in mobility services”, stated Professor Amnon Shashua, founder and CEO of Mobileye.

The adaptable Mobileye autonomous driving system will enable the Croatian company Project 3 Mobility to launch its service in other cities around the world after the City of Zagreb. Project 3 Mobility has already signed agreements with nine cities and is in constant communication with an additional 30 cities across Europe, including the UK, and the Middle East, all of which are interested in becoming project partners.

By launching a new mobility service (Mobility-as-a-Service), the Croatian company Project 3 Mobility wants to increase efficiency and safety on the world’s roads and achieve a positive impact on the environment and city infrastructure.
