Croatian factory Kircek, located near Varaždin is now Ikea’s official supplier. Starting September, this factory will produce Hammarp kitchen counters made out of full oak and their products will be available in all Ikea stores across Europe. Kircek is planning to produce 20 000 of these counter tops in two sizes, and with this contract they became the second Croatian company to cooperate with Ikea after Tvin from Virovitica.
Director of Ikea Croatia Dragan Skalušević commented on the new cooperation – We are very pleased with our new Croatian partner and as we announced when we opened our Croatian store in Zagreb, Ikea is creating opportunities for suppliers from Croatia and the whole region. We are extremely happy we found a great Croatian producer after a successful cooperation with Tvin. Kircek has more than 50 years of experience and they passed our strict IWAY quality standards.
Kircek’s sales director Silvio Gotić is also happy with this international cooperation – This contract proves that are investments in production were worth while. I believe our business strategy was also a contributing factor since it includes flexible production of modern wooden products finely tuned to the needs of contemporary consumers, short delivery periods, continuous technology upgrades and the use of eco friendly technologies -Gotić commented.
Ikea Croatia continues its search for domestic suppliers, not only in wooden furniture production but also in various other industries since the company offers more than 9 5000 products in its range.
