Badel 1862 will soon start with the first deliveries.
Badel 1862 exports its products to 30 countries around the world, and has long been working to increase exports to the US market, reports Večernji List on January 26, 2017.
The company has been present in the US market for years with its old plum brandy and fine wines, and wanted to expand its offer to the bitters. However, it was necessary to adapt Pelinkovac, its recipe and ingredients, to the standards and regulations of the United States, which are partially different from those in the European Union. The process of obtaining permits took almost two years.
“We have finally received all permits, certifications and registrations, so we can now start with the export process, which coincided with our intensive marketing activities in that market. We have created a synergy between presentations of our wines and contacts we already have to start promoting Pelinkovac as well. All this resulted in first deliveries of Pelinkovac to the United States”, announced Badel, without disclosing details about the amount of their bitter liqueur being exported.
Bitter liqueurs are currently in the focus of the world markets, including the United States, and Pelinkovac has attracted attention with its 150-year-long tradition, natural ingredients without any additives, and its aroma and specific taste.
In addition to the herbal liqueur and the Orange bitter, intended for ladies, Badel will also export some of its other products. Marketing and sales processes will be implemented through the distribution channels which Badel 1862 has established in the United States.
The US market is very challenging, and in many cases it is necessary to adapt the product to American regulations, said Badel and added that, for example, the United States have stricter regulations on the content of thujone than the ones which exist in the European Union. The process of Pelinkovac production uses only a distillate obtained directly from dried herbs and no flavours are added.
