The Dentologix start-up will go on to present Croatia at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland.
Seedstars World is a global competition for entrepreneurs and start-up companies in emerging markets to win up to $1 million in capital investment.
This past weekend on May the 7th 2017, Seedstars World held its Croatian edition of Seedstars Dubrovnik at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel with the support of local host, Dalmatia Aeterna, as part of the International Teche Summit.
Six selected start-up companies were invited to present their ideas in front of the panel of expert judges. The winner, Dentologix, a B2B market for dental technical lab services, was selected as the best start-up in Croatia because of its solution. “I’m very excited about winning! This was my first show on the stage and it was an incredible experience, especially before this highly qualified jury. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I am very happy to go to Switzerland!” said Dario Pozder, founder of Dentologix. As part of the award, Dentologix will participate in the Seedstars Summit, which will be held in April next year in Switzerland. It is a training program that will last a week and will offer the opportunity for Dentologix to meet the 65 other winners as well as investors and mentors from around the world. The closing day of the Summit will be devoted to the presentation in front of an audience of 1,000 participants and with the ability to win an incomprehensible $1 million in equity capital.
”Pointers” with their personal tourist digital guide took second place, and ”Pleema” which is an innovative platform that makes it easier to book ships online, took third place in the top three.
The start-up companies that were invited were:
SightRun – a running and sightseeing platform
Nebooha – a platform that helps immigrants
Pointers – a personal travel guide with a digital database of various destinations
Pleema – a platform that makes it easier to book ships online
Dentologix – B2B market for dental laboratory services
Parkrol – a smart parking solution that prevents unauthorised parking and shows up parking places in real-time
Mentors at the Seedstars Dubrovnik Competition were Drazen Nikolic – Director of the Zagreb Branch of the Founder Institute, Kristijan Ravnic – Project Coordinator, Startup Factory Zagreb, Augustin Jarak – Startup Generalist, Development Engineer for Croatian Startups, Agahuseyn Ahmadov and Daria Golikova – Seedstars World Associates For Central and Eastern Europe.
The members of the jury were Tarek El Kady – Founder and Chairman of Teche Summit Committee, Fadi Bishara – Founder and CEO for Blackbox, Gary Whitehill – Futurist of Now, Entrepreneur Week & The Relentless Foundation, Agahuseyn Ahmadov – Seedstars World Associate for Central and Eastern Europe.

The next Seedstars World will be held in Prague where it will choose the best start-up in the Czech Republic. Seedstars World looks for smart start-ups that address regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
