Their agency opened in November 2015, while first tours began in June with two employees
Brothers John and Ante Daničić opened a tourism agency named Eco Tuk Tours Dubrovnik and began their business with a 100% electric and 100% green approach. They purchased two so-called tuk tuk vehicles, first of their kind in Croatia and used them to create specialised small group tours in Dubrovnik and surroundings, Poslovni Dnevnik reported on June 20, 2016.
Their agency was opened in November 2015, while first tours began in June and have two employees. “We wanted to enrich the touristic offer of the city and bring to the market something new and enable tourists to enjoy the beauty of Dubrovnik in an ecologically acceptable way. After long research we found electric tuk tuk vehicles which thrilled us with their looks and possibilities,” the Daničić brothers said. From the idea to its realisation, two years passed which they used for education such as licenses for tourism agency managers, tourist guides and professional drivers.
Today Eco Tuk Tours Dubrovnik are a part of a business incubator in the development agency of Dubrovnik. “The greatest asset of our business are 100% electric vehicles we use for our tours and individual approach to guests, which they appreciate,” they said. They are primarily concentrated on creating a reputation for the agency on the market, and see their advantage in offering tourists a different experience of the town and surroundings.
They’ve added to their tours items other agencies do not offer such as visits to the local market or war museum where they attempt to recreate living under siege and shelling, but also sunset tours. “Reactions are mostly positive and we have the support of locals. So far the greatest success is making our business idea a reality and the satisfaction of our clients who leave great reviews on TripAdvisor,” the brothers said.
