January the 19th, 2024 – Rebranding to Earthbound! After five years dedicated to creating eco-friendly sneakers known as “MIRET,” the company proudly introduced its rebranding at the end of 2023 – EARTHBOUND.
This step is the result of a strategic initiative to align the company’s identity and communication with its values and a radical commitment to environmental responsibility.
The name change from MIRET to EARTHBOUND embodies the brand’s core values. This change not only signifies a transition to a new name but also a promise that EARTHBOUND will continue to create footwear that not only looks great but also positively contributes to the planet.
Co-founders Hrvoje and Domagoj Boljar and the entire Earthbound team express deep gratitude to everyone who participated in this exceptional journey, with special thanks to Size Studio for their contributions and leadership in choosing the name, Maja Turčić for the overall branding, and Ante Machiedo for creating the completely new website.
Miret d.o.o. becomes the first Croatian B Corp certified company
This year, Miret d.o.o. achieved its long-term goal, becoming the first Croatian company with B Corp certification. This certification signifies joining a global network of companies exploring the path of combining business success with social well-being and addressing environmental challenges throug power of market.
B Corp companies are synonymous with the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. There are now over 7,500 B Corps in 88 countries worldwide.
The primary purpose of B Corp certification is to encourage companies to achieve high standards in social, environmental, and transparent performance. B Lab, a non-profit organization founded in 2006 and the driving force behind certification, sets high criteria through the B Impact Assessment and continually encourages companies to make improvements.
As an affiliated member of this prestigious group, Miret d.o.o. underwent the B Impact Assessment with an exceptional score of 89.3 points, well above the average for companies undergoing the assessment.
What does it mean to be a B Corp certified company?
To achieve certification, a company must:
- Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or higher and undergo B Lab verification.
- Show business transparency by allowing information about their performance according to B Lab standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on the B Lab website.
The B Impact Assessment evaluation for MIRET d.o.o., which lasted over two years, was led by their Sustainability Officer, Mikael Hietala, with contributions from the entire team.
Results of MIRET’s B Impact Assessment
Based on the B Impact assessment, Miret d.o.o. achieved an overall score of 89.3.
The median score for companies undergoing the assessment is currently 50.9.

Recertification of Earthbound sneakers according to Oeko-Tex® STANDARD 100
Since 2022, Earthbound sneakers proudly bear the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label. The STANDARD 100 OEKO-TEX® label means that every component of the product has been tested for over 350 chemicals harmful to human health, ensuring the product is entirely safe and non-toxic.
Earthbound sneakers are the first in the world to receive this label for the entire product, not just individual materials.
Miret d.o.o. has successfully undergone the recertification process according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, confirming their continuous commitment to ensuring the highest standards in footwear production.
