ZAGREB, May 8, 2018 – A project of the Rijeka Ljubavi (River of Love) charity from Osijek to alleviate poverty in the Osijek area has been approved and a 5.04 million kuna grant from the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived has been earmarked for it, it was said in the eastern city.
The project envisages the procurement and distribution of food and hygiene products for 3,500 beneficiaries in need, the distribution of sporting equipment and school supplies for the 361 children in families in distress, workshops for the beneficiaries, and the procurement of computers for the charity.
It will take three to four months for the public procurement procedure, the charity’s president, Štefica Čučak, told reporters.
Osijek City Council president Dragan Vulin said this was a socially significant project.
Toni Žufić of the Slavonia and Baranja Regional Development Agency said this was the fourth project in which the agency was helping Rijeka Ljubavi since 2014 and that 10.3 million kuna in EU funds had been absorbed for them.
