The investment is worth 100 million euros.

In the spring of 2019, Dogus Croatia and Hyatt Hotels Corporation plan to open Hyatt Regency Zadar Maraska, the first hotel under the Hyatt brand in Croatia. In addition to the hotel, Dogus Group will build 115 luxury residences and a commercial area with exclusive shops, restaurants and cafe bars. The investment in hotel, residences and supporting facilities will be worth 100 million euros, reports Poslovni.hr on September 22, 2016.

“We are small enough not to be average. The policy of the Tourism Ministry and this government is to encourage excellence in all segments, not only in tourism. Results of Dogus Group are impressive”, said Tourism Minister Antun Kliman.

“We strongly believe in great potential of Croatia. That is why we continue to invest in areas and sectors that fit into the the Dogus Group corporate policy. We have several hotels and a marina on the Croatian coast and we are confident that the project will contribute to the beauty of the town of Zadar, as well as to the development of the tourism portfolio of Dogus Group”, said Husnu Akhan, the CEO of Dogus Group.

“We are delighted to start one of the most prestigious projects in Zadar, together with our partner Hyatt. Our cooperation with Hyatt in Turkey has been going on for over 20 years, and today, with this project, it goes a step further. Croatia has a great potential to develop luxury tourism. Together with Hyatt, we hope to strengthen the potential of this region and attract tourists from Croatia and the world”, said Naci Baserdem, the president of Dogus Tourism Group.

“We are very proud that together with Hyatt we will bring to Croatia Hyatt Regency, one of the most famous hotel brands in the world”, said Burak Baykan, regional director of Dogus Group for Croatia and Montenegro. “We will work to transform the old Maraska factory in a hotel that will offer guests the highest level of service. We are convinced that a brand like Hyatt will significantly contribute to the attractiveness of the town of Zadar as a destination, but also to the overall development of Croatian tourism, as well as its positioning in the segment of luxury tourism. The hotel will accompany residences and commercial areas which will be open to all citizens of Zadar. Upon completion of this project, the total investment of Dogus Group in Croatia will rise to 350 million euros”, added Baykan, pointing out that the hotel would create 170 new jobs and have a positive impact on indirect employment.

“The opening of Hyatt Regency Zadar Maraska underlines our ambition to develop the Hyatt Regency brand”, said Jacques Morand, regional vice president of Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts. “This hotel will not only mark the entry of Hyatt on the Croatian market, but it will also be our first hotel on the Adriatic coast. Our guests will get top quality accommodation and services which have made Hyatt Regency successful and recognizable worldwide. We want to be a good neighbour to the local community and contribute to strengthening of tourism in Croatia.”

Hyatt Regency Zadar Maraska will be designed by architect Boris Podrecca, who will combine history and modern architecture. In addition to 130 luxurious rooms and suites, the hotel will offer guests one of the most beautiful spa and wellness centres in Croatia, an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, a modern conference centre, restaurants and bars. Interior design will be done by British company DeSallesFlint, specialized for designing hotels and residences, which has equipped several Hyatt hotels worldwide. “The idea was to create an exciting design that will reflect the rich history of the Maraska building and create a modern, dynamic approach that will combine the old and the new”, said Simon Flint, the co-founder of DeSalllesFlint.

The residential part will consist of two buildings with a total of 115 luxury residential units, between 38 to 185 square metres in area. Exterior residential part will be inspired by modern design lines and architecture of the marina. The commercial area will include three restaurants, a yacht club, a children’s club, four shops and a supermarket.
