Franchise is supposed to be located in one of the West Gate towers
Even though this information is still unofficial (hence the question mark in the title), it seems that the largest construction project going on in Split at the moment, so called Zapadna Vrata project (West Gate), will not only include two towers, apartments and offices, it will also include the very first Marriott hotel in Croatia.
Split has been chosen by Marriott, one of the largest hotel chains in the world for their very first franchise hotel in Croatia just months after the opening of their hotel in Sarajevo. Apparently, franchise contract has already been signed and the hotel will be located in the B tower (17 story tower) which will also carry the name of this renowned hotel chain.
First of the two planned towers will house the central offices of Splitska banka and regional office of Societe Generale, underground garage on 4 levels while the second tower will include the above mentioned Marriott hotel, restaurant, business centre and various other facilities. As far as the construction dynamic is concerned, so far everything is going according to plan, first tower should be finished by the end of 2016.
Since the prime Minister Milanović is supposed to visit the construction site in two weeks, we expect to get official confirmation of this new hotel franchise as well as more detailed information on the project itself.
