The four-star hotel is a new addition to Croatia’s health tourism offer.
On 31 March, Seget Donji near Trogir will get 52 new accommodation units in the new Ola Hotel, with financing partly coming from EU structural funds, reports Jutarnji List on March 23, 2017.
It is a four-star hotel devoted to health and medical tourism, and is owned by Studio XXL from Zagreb. The investment is estimated at 12.5 million euros.
With a total of 5,700 square metres, Ola Hotel will have a ground floor and four floors for tourists. The underground part of the building includes a garage with 48 parking spaces. Of the 52 accommodation units, two are apartments, and the hotel includes a conference hall as well. There is also a space dedicated to a doctor’s office and pharmacy, a restaurant, fitness centre, spa, indoor pool, and an outdoor rooftop pool.
Studio XXL specializes in commercial projects, and together with 30 employees of the Ola Hotel, the company will now have a total of 40 employees. The company decided for the investment in the hotel in 2013, when it applied to a public competition for the award of grants. They received 26 million kuna from EU funds, and they invested their own money in the purchase of land, obtaining a construction permit, and drafting the project documentation. They also took out a loan in the amount of 4.3 million euros.
“The idea is to develop the hotel in the direction of health and medical tourism, which is the reason why there will be a doctor’s office in the hotel. We are still in negotiations, but in principle we are interested it to be a dentist, plastic surgery or dermatological clinic, whose patients will be staying at our hotel and using our other facilities”, explained project manager Davorin Rimac.
