ZAGREB, August 25, 2018 – A strike at the 3. Maj shipyard in Rijeka continued on Saturday and as Saturday is not a working day workers did not come to their work stations but are preparing to come to Zagreb on Monday and hold a protest rally outside Government House, the head of the striking council Veljko Todorović told Hina on Saturday.

Todorović said that ten bus loads with about 400 to 500 workers from the dock would come to Zagreb. They will come to the dock on Monday morning where the busses will be waiting and then head for Zagreb, he added.

On Wednesday, 22 August, a general strike started at the 3 Maj shipyard and entire Uljanik Group because workers did not receive the July wages.

The striking council said that the strike would continue until their demands are met, that is, until they receive their wages. Workers at 3. Maj are demanding that the dock be supplied with material in order to recommence production and to complete ships already under construction.
