The owner of the Turkish Dogus Group has confirmed the hotel chain brand will open its first hotel in Croatia in the renovated Maraska factory

The opening of a beach bar in the D-Marin Dalmatia marina in Sukošan, a 6.5 million Euro investment, was an opportunity for the owner of the Dogus Group Ferit Şahenk to talk of what the future will look like for Croatian tourism, Poslovni Dnevnik reported on July 17, 2016.

He pointed out Croatia is a very important destination for Dogus Group, while confirming that the global Hyatt hotel chain will open their first hotel in Zadar, in the renovated Maraska factory.

“The quality Croatian tourism needs is at the luxury level, which is what we are trying to achieve with our investments. Marina guests do not want just sun and sea, but services from hotels to clubs. Elite nautical and sports tourism is one of the best tools to promote Croatia as a luxury destination tourism. With this goal we wanted to bring the global hotel brand Hyatt to Zadar, while the hotel will also have services for the residents of Zadar, which is quite important for us. In our investments we strive to create something useful for the local community,” the Dogus Group owner said.

D-Marin Dalmatia is one of 11 marinas in the Dogus Group in Ionian, Aegean and Adriatic seas. In seven years of their presence in Croatia, the company has invested 250 million Euro, soon to be 350, after their investment in Zadar is complete. The Maraska project in Zadar is worth 100 million Euro, half of which is going to a hotel with 5 stars and 130 rooms. As part of the project there will be a luxury residential area with 100 apartments and commercial services such as shops, restaurants and cafe bars.
