ZAGREB, May 16, 2018 – Consumer prices in April 2018 in Croatia increased by 0.7% on the month and by 1.3% on the year, the State Bureau of Statistics (DZS) said on Wednesday.
Raiffeisenbank Austria (RBA) analysts said that inflation measured by consumer prices continued its 17-month growth streak, adding that this was the second consecutive month that inflation increased on the year.
According to DZS, prices in April 2018 compared to April 2017 increased the most in the restaurant and hotel industry (3.2%), followed by housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.9%), and alcohol and tobacco (2.5%) and health services (1.4%).
Inflation on the month was up 0.7%.
The highest price rises on the month were for clothing and footwear (4.4%), transport (1.5%), non-alcoholic beverages (0.7%) and restaurant and hotel prices (0.5%).
