New car sales in Croatia for the month of July.
In July, 3,324 new cars were sold in Croatia, which is 264 vehicles or 8.6 percent more than last year, while in the first seven months of 2015 a total of 24,899 vehicles were sold, which is 706 vehicles or 2.9 percent more than in the same period of 2014. The data were published on Thursday by Promocija Plus, according to a report in Poslovni.hr on August 6, 2015.
As far as individual producers are concerned, the top spot belonged to Volkswagen, which sold 467 vehicles, followed by Opel with 269 and Škoda with 264 vehicles. The fourth was Renault with 283 cars, while the fifth was Ford with 261 vehicles. In the premium brand category, Audi was 10th with 110 vehicles, BMW 13th, and Mercedes 16th.
In July, costumers in Croatia also bought a Porsche, a Jaguar and a Tesla.
For the period from January to July, the number one place also belongs to Volkswagen with 4,051 vehicles sold and a share of 16.3 percent of total sales, followed by Opel with 2,975 cars sold (share of 11.9 percent) and Škoda with 2,280 cars (share of 9,2 percent). Volkswagen sold 54 vehicles more than last year, Opel 121 vehicles less, and Škoda 394 vehicles less. The fourth place in the number of vehicles sold from January to the end of July belongs to Renault with 2,014 cars sold (673 vehicles more than last year), while the fifth was Ford with 1,459 vehicles. In the same period last year, Ford sold 1,211 vehicles.
In July, the best-selling model was Renault Clio (183 cars sold), the second was Seat Leon (147), and the third Volkswagen Passat (140).
On the other hand, in the first seven months of this year, the best-selling model was Opel Astra with 1,357 vehicles sold, the second was Volkswagen Golf (1,318), and the third Renault Clio (1,244).
In the seven months, 62 percent of the cars sold had diesel engines, while 36 percent of the cars used a petrol engine.
