Minister Lorencin is participating in the Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum
While the rest of the country is waiting for the new government, current Croatian Minister of Tourism is in Spain where he is participating in the Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum. He met with his Spanish colleague Jose Manuel Soria Lopez on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, and discussed the cooperation between two countries, Croatian expediences with diffused hotels and Croatian plans to invest €7 billion in tourism by 2020.
During the forum, Lorencin also met with the directors of Spanish airlines, and according to their announcement, they will boost the flight frequency to Croatia in 2016 by 20%.
In the first 10 months of 2015 more than 205 000 Spanish tourists visited Croatia and in 2016 we can expect even greater numbers.
As far as investments are concerned, Minister Lorencin announced at a press conference a month ago that we can expect significant investments in tourism in 2016. In 2015 investments reached nearly €500 million but in 2016, based on plans by both private and public tourist companies, they could reach €676 million.
