August the 31st, 2023 – The existing Jadrolinija fleet is set to undergo renewal totalling 18.3 million euros, with a public procurement procedure now announced.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Jadrolinija fleet is set to get a bit of a face lift by next summer, as this well-known Croatian ferry company plans to refresh its fleet with three “new” catamarans. The country’s shipping company has now officially announced a public procurement totalling a massive 18.3 million euros, according to which the future members of Jadrolinija fleet’s must not be older than two years, according to a report from tportal.

This summer, Jadrolinija purchased two catamarans from Tankerska plovidba for a 13.42 million euro price tag. They had previously been rented from the same company for a short period of just three months for a price of 480,000 euros.

The vessels in question are the Puntamika catamarans, which took over the Rijeka – Rab – Novalja line, and the Kolovare, which sails along the Mali Lošinj – Ilovik – Susak – Unije – Martinšćica – Cres – Rijeka route. Those particular vessels, much like the ones currently in demand today, are made of alluminum, have a capacity of 317 passengers, and were built in 2018 and 2019 respectively at the Cahaya Samudra shipyard in distant Indonesia.

After the takeover, the Jadrolinija fleet’s new catamarans were renamed Kata and Danica, in order to blend in with their new Croatian surroundings, of course.
