The world-renowned manufacturer of designer furniture opens store in Zagreb.
KARE, a world-renowned manufacturer of unconventional designer furniture, officially opened its first standalone store in Zagreb, at the King Cross Jankomir shopping centre, reports Poslovni.hr on February 10, 2017.
The store is about 700 square metres in area and was opened by Peter Schonhofen, one of the two founders of KARE Design. “KARE has been a leader in equipping homes and businesses for 35 years. It offers to its customers furniture which is unusual and unconventional, designed for individuals. When my business partner Jurgen Reiter and I as students decided to establish the company in 1981, we wanted to offer outstanding and fun designer furniture at reasonable prices. Today, we have finally arrived in Zagreb, which has long been our wish. We are pleased that we can offer in Zagreb all the KARE furniture for which you would otherwise have to travel to Vienna”, said Schonhofen.
Two fans of design, Jurgen Reiter and Peter Schonhofen, founded KARE as students, when they decorated an apartment which they shared. Their passion for stylish furniture was much larger than their budget, but the founders of KARE had a solution for this problem. At the time, cutting edge design was reserved for the elite and was very expensive, so they designed their own furniture. They believed that furniture deserves great design at an attractive price and with something unusual – after all, furniture should be fun.
Jurgen Reiter is responsible for the development of design and inspirational ideas arising under KARE. He travels the world for 200 days a year to find products created by talented designers in their workshops, which means that shelves of KARE stores are regularly filled with new products.
Peter Schonhofen is responsible for expanding the company internationally, as well as for global marketing. He oversees KARE stores around the world so that everything is in its place and to ensure satisfaction of KARE clients.
