Croatia’s Hangar 18 has managed to achieve this outstanding recognition owing to its remarkable business results from 2017.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 4th of September, 2018, the Koprivnica-based Hangar 18 d.o.o. won the much sought-after “Golden kuna” (Zlatna kuna) award for the most successful medium-sized enterprise (50 to 249 employees) in Koprivnica-Križevci County. This marks the second Golden kuna award for Hangar 18, since it won in the category of the most successful small company (up to 49 employees) back in 2015, too.

The Golden Kuna Awards were awarded on Monday, September the 3rd, 2018 during the session of the Economic Council of the Koprivnica County Chamber of Commerce.

The company’s remarkable business results in 2017 were they key to the award, and according to Deloitte’s 2017 report, Hangar 18 is among the fifty fastest growing companies in Central Europe, and for the second consecutive year, it is among the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the region(s) of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

At the end of last year, Hangar 18 completed the project: Investment in the construction and equipping of a logistics center in Koprivnica and the improvement of business processes co-financed by European Union funds. The total value of the investment stood at seven million kuna.

Hangar 18 is continuing to go forward with the development of its own smart phone device(s), a sector which has expanded from smartphones to tablets and even to much larger devices such as TVs. In the Chinese city of Shenzhen, where the mobile phone industry is located, Croatia’s NOA has opened up its own company which already has ten employees. In addition to the ten countries in which NOA smart phones are already being sold, the largest market to open its doors to the Croatian devices in 2017 was Russia.

By investing in its own compuer (PC) brand – HPC, the company has opened the H18 Megastore Gaming Arena here in Croatia, and is gradually pushing the current gaming boundaries.

The Golden kuna award has naturally become a symbol of huge success and a symbol of high quality business. It is awarded for business success and contributions to the Croatian economy. Alongside Koprivnica’s Hangar 18, the company Lasselsberger-Knauf d.o.o. from Đurđevac (Koprivnica-Križevci County) is the winner of the award for the best small company, while the award for the most successful big company was taken by Radnik d.d. from Križevci.
