August the 20th, 2024 – Croatian entrepreneur Mate Rimac is currently building a new hypercar, but he claims he won’t be sticking to the rules, nor will be it be like the Nevera.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Livno-born businessman Mate Rimac’s company, Rimac Automobili, has revealed exciting plans to make a hypercar intended solely for the race track. It will boast only one, centrally located seat. Mate Rimac himself confirmed the above for the Motor1 portal.

“We decided not only to push the limits of road cars, but also those of race cars,” Mate Rimac revealed in conversation with Motor1.

“So, that means that we’re building a track car, a single seater that will be faster than any race car on most tracks. It will be faster than Formula 1, faster than Le Mans…” teased the self-confessed car lover and serial entrepreneur Rimac.

This type of car is a big step forward for Rimac Automobili. This is because until now, the company only produced two-seaters with electric drives intended for the road. The aforementioned portal also added that Rimac said that the car will not be based on the stunning Nevera, but will be built entirely on its own, special platform.

“We will probably show it this year and take it the first tracks next year,” Rimac told Motor1, before confirming that the single-seater will be a vehicle for race tracks only, and that it will not be adapted for road driving. In addition, he claimed that the car will not follow the established rules.

“Will we make absolutely sure that it’s safe? Yes. But everything else? There are no rules,” stated Rimac.
