ZAGREB, June 10, 2018 – The Croatian Foreign Ministry on Saturday welcomed the Netherlands’ decision to lift restrictions on Croatian workers.
The Netherlands decided on Friday that it will notify the European Commission that it will not continue to use the option to further extend the transition period for restricting Croatian citizens’ access to the Dutch labour market, the ministry said in a press release.
The Croatian government will respond by lifting restrictions on Dutch workers.
The mutual enabling of the free flow of workers confirms the strengthening of the mutual trust and represents an additional incentive to the excellent economic and overall cooperation between the two countries, the ministry said.
Restrictions on Croatian workers within the European Union are still in force only in Austria, Slovenia and the UK, which will lift them on July 1.
