Denis Vukorepa is the new director of Rijeka Port Authority.
The Governing Council of Rijeka Port Authority on its session on Tuesday made a decision on appointing Denis Vukorepa as the head of the Port Authority of Rijeka for the next four years, reports Novi list on September 5, 2017.
This decision was briefly confirmed by the President of the Management Board of the Rijeka Port Authority, Bojan Hlača, who stressed that Denis Vukorepa was unanimously elected, meaning that he received support from representatives of the state, concessionaires, the City of Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
Denis Vukorepa, shortly after his appointment, said that he intends to continue all the Port Authority’s projects. “In this respect, it is extremely important to continue the implementation of a number of projects for which European funds have been approved, and, of course, to prepare and run new ones.
At the moment, the primary focus is the completion of the construction of the container terminal at Zagrebačka obala, which is underway and whose progress is already visible on the site. The container terminal is expected to provide a new dimension and quality to the Rijeka port and traffic route.
In addition, the tender preparation and concessionaires of the new terminal must be continued, as well as the realization of the D-403 road, which is of great importance for the new terminal, Building new infrastructure is important for securing and advancing Rijeka as an important international and national port and traffic route.
When it comes to the Delta and Porto Baroš projects, I can say that this space is not within the Port concession, but we should try to find an effective way to put them into operation as soon as possible.
