“So far, we’ve repeatedly tried to talk to the city authorities to get them to lower that fee, but it’s been unsuccessful.”
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 17th of April, 2018, after Rijekakino unsuccessfully tried to sell Teatro Fenice to the state, to Primorje-Gorski Kotar and then to the City of Rijeka, the MGK-pack company also went down the very same path the well known former Hotel Emigranti on Milutin Barača street 7. The price of which stands at about 1.4 million euro.
”The reasons for selling the property are multiple. This property hasn’t been in service for many years, and the costs are very high. The high price of communal fees and other contributions that we have to pay each year significantly burdens our business. Until now, we’ve repeatedly tried to talk to the city authorities about how to lower the fee, but it’s been unsuccessful.”
As reported by Novi List, when it comes to the communal and water fees for the period from 2001 until now, a total of 4.347.875 kuna has been paid, and the additional expenses for maintaining the building are about 1.100.000 kuna for non-functioning property, as was stated by MGK-pack’s Antun Petrić and his deputy, Miljenko Galić.
